Moonlit uses information to create accounts, enable profiles, posts, media sharing and conversations, protect users, provide support, and improve reliability. We do not sell personal data for money. You control the content you choose to share and may request access, correction, deletion, or other rights described below.

2. Information we collect
Information you provide
- Account and profile: display name, email address, date of birth, username, profile photo, biography, and interests.
- User content: posts, messages, selected photos and videos, reactions, reports, and other content you choose to submit.
- Support and safety: information included in requests, reports, appeals, or correspondence with us.
- Purchases: product and transaction status. Payment credentials are processed by Google Play or another authorized payment provider and are not stored by Moonlit.
Information collected automatically
- Device and app data: device model, operating system, app version, language, identifiers used for app operation or advertising where permitted, and notification token.
- Usage data: feature interactions, session timestamps, referral information, and engagement with content.
- Technical data: IP address, crash logs, diagnostics, security events, and approximate region inferred from network information.
Photos and videos
Moonlit accesses only the photos or videos you select when you choose to create a profile, post, or message. Selected media is uploaded only after your action. You can manage media permissions in Android settings.
3. How and why we use information
- Provide accounts, profiles, posts, media sharing, messaging, and requested features.
- Authenticate users, maintain sessions, process purchases, and provide support.
- Recommend relevant content or connections based on your interests and activity.
- Detect spam, fraud, abuse, security incidents, and violations of our policies.
- Analyze performance, fix errors, and develop or improve Moonlit.
- Comply with applicable law and respond to valid legal requests.
Legal bases for users in the EEA and UK
We process information as necessary to perform our contract with you, comply with legal obligations, and pursue legitimate interests such as security, service improvement, and preventing abuse. We rely on consent where required, including for certain advertising, notifications, device permissions, or sensitive data. You may withdraw consent at any time.
4. When information is shared
You have the right to know whether your personal data is shared or sold. Moonlit may disclose limited information in these circumstances:
- Other users: profile details, posts, selected media, and interactions are visible according to the feature and privacy choices you use. Messages are shared with their recipients.
- Service providers: hosting, storage, moderation, analytics, customer support, communications, security, and payment providers process data only to perform services for us.
- Legal and safety: information may be disclosed when reasonably necessary to comply with law, protect people, investigate abuse, or enforce our agreements.
- Business change: information may transfer as part of a merger, financing, acquisition, or sale of assets, subject to appropriate safeguards and notice where required.
Sale of data: Moonlit does not sell personal data for monetary consideration. If this practice changes, we will update this Policy and provide legally required notice and choices before the change applies.

5. Your choices and privacy rights
- Access or receive a portable copy of eligible personal data.
- Correct inaccurate account information.
- Delete your account and associated personal data, subject to lawful exceptions.
- Withdraw consent or object to certain processing.
- Opt out of targeted advertising, the sale of personal data, or qualifying profiling.
- Appeal a denied privacy request where applicable.
- Receive equal service without unlawful discrimination for exercising a privacy right.
How to make a request
Email camardellamenteyrf057@gmail.com from your registered address with the subject matching your request, such as Privacy Request, Right to Know Request, or Opt Out Request. State whether you want to opt out of targeted advertising, data sale, or qualifying profiling. We may verify account ownership and will respond within the period required by applicable law.
You can request account deletion through Moonlit's Account Deletion page or in the app under Profile → Settings → Account & Privacy → Delete Account.
Complaints
EEA and UK users have the right to lodge a complaint with their local data protection supervisory authority. You may also contact the California or Virginia Attorney General where applicable. We encourage you to contact us first so we can address your concern.
6. Retention and security
We retain account information while your account is active and as needed to provide Moonlit. After a verified deletion request, we aim to delete or anonymize associated data within 30 days. Backup copies and limited security records may remain for up to 90 days. Transaction, dispute, fraud-prevention, or legal records may be retained longer when required by law.
We use access controls, encryption in transit, security monitoring, and other organizational and technical safeguards appropriate to the information. No online service can guarantee absolute security.
7. Age requirement and child safety
Moonlit is intended only for people aged 18 or older and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a minor has created an account, contact us so we can investigate and take appropriate action. Child safety concerns are handled under our published Child Safety Standards.
8. International transfers and policy updates
Information may be processed in countries other than where you live. Where required, we use recognized safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses or another lawful transfer mechanism.
We may update this Policy to reflect service, legal, or operational changes. We will post the revised date and provide additional notice for material changes where required.
